Hoboken
Chess Club Champions!
The Hoboken Chess Club participated in a chess tournament on Sunday April 6th,
2008 in New York. The tournament was sanctioned by the United
States Chess Federation. Over 250 children from all over New York City participated.
The 20 +-strong Hoboken Chess Club did very, very well – consistent with similar performances at other large
tournaments.
WE WON! Highlights include:

Tournament-wide Champion Anagh Kulkarni.
Anang went a perfect 4-0!

First Place Team Championship for the Club’s 5-person team from the Cordero School in Jersey City. This same
team also won the 2007 New Jersey
State Chess Federation Championship.
Playing for the team were; Yash Bajaj, Neil Mehta, Vrutik Thakkar,
Aryan Singh and Anagh Kulkarni.

Newport; Mema Khazanov, Ansul Kaware, Aman Gupta, Arpan Gupta, Daniel Khazanov and Yash Tewari. Aryan

Mustard Seed School; Brecon Hession, Thomas Narramore, Jeramiah Narramore, Ian Russell and Bredan
Klemm-Smith.
Jeramiah Narramore was outstanding, leading his team with 3 point, (3 victories).
